A lot of this is covered by other reviewers, but just to reiterate this is not the sound of "classic" Chicago circa albums CTA, II, III & V. Everything sounds electronic & processed, unlike the pristine production from Guercio all those years ago. At points the entire sound is like corporate rock from the 80s. Yes this is not an album of sappy ballads, but it is highly processed, homogenized and undistinguished. If it didn't say "Chicago" on the label it would most likely be passed by. This CD just confirms, as if everyone didn't know by now, the door on "classic" Chicago has long been closed.
